What is Alum?

Alum occurs in nature as the mineral alunogenite found in Bauxite ores in mountainous and volcanic areas.

Alum is used in the food industry, food additives, as an ingredient in baking powder (cake alum) , pickling vegetables ( pickle alum) , papermaking (papermaker’s alum), tanning hides, book binding, aquatic products salting, tap water processing, chemical and pharmaceutical industry and as a natural deodorant originated in Asia. Is used in Asia to clear polluted water for use in households.

The product is certified not harmful to the environment. It is water-soluble and will be absorbed by marine milieu.
